As we conclude the first month of the year, I wanted to share my goals for the year ahead. I have always had an unsettling relationship with setting goals. Every January, I treat it as a reset—a time to reflect and prepare for what I hope to step into next.
This year, setting goals felt harder than usual. Being in a season of preparation is not easy. It requires patience with the steps you know you need to take to reach the next season, even when those steps feel slow—sometimes at a sloth’s pace. I love planning and doing all the things, but I also love it when plans get canceled.
Over the years, I’ve learned to set smaller, more sustainable goals. This year felt different. Because of certain plans and circumstances, I’ve had to be more intentional about my goals, and that hasn’t always been easy. My focus shifted from accomplishment to preparation—while still wanting my goals to hold purpose and leave room for peace. That meant setting goals rooted more in experience than achievement—broader goals that allow room for preparation, rest, and reduced stress.
Here are my goals for this year.

If these reflections spoke to you, I share gentle encouragement and quiet inspiration in my email letters.
Included is a free goals printable — a simple, peaceful way to reflect and move forward at your own pace.
